One simple piece of advice for guys to not make their girlfriends crazy.
“If you only knew how many times I remembered the things you told me,” said Nick sitting across from me, smiling. We had not seen each other for years, and he was all grown up now, a man. I smiled. I knew he was referring to my advice regarding women and their apparent “mood swings”. Nick was a typical boy, who wanted an uncomplicated life, who like all his peers, had never learned to put in the effort and the time to learn a new communication language that was anything but new, in reality.
“I am glad to hear it” I replied. And I was. He was not pretending or following a guide, although it started like that. He genuinely had come to understand how the female nature in general operates, taking into consideration the culture, the degree of sexism, and how much society expects from women, depending on their country and place in the family. Nick lived in Greece, where women had apparently an equal place. But the burden they carried was to be pretty, all the time, perfect mothers, impeccable housewives. They needed to never get fat, to keep a husband happy, a house clean, never drink, never make mistakes, and sacrifice for men. Any three of these requirements would stress anyone out of their minds.
